Meet the 2025 Board of Directors Candidates
Active surgeon members of the Michigan Association of Neurosurgeons (MANS) are invited to review the candidates for the 2025 Board of Directors.
Voting will open on July 21 and close on August 10 at 11am.
Election results will be announced during the MANS Summer Meeting on Sunday, August 10 at 12:00 PM.

Karam Asmaro, MD
A neurosurgeon based in Royal Oak, Michigan, with a focus on minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, complemented by subspecialty training in endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery from Stanford University
Christian Bowers, MD
A neurosurgeon who is recognized as the world’s leading expert on frailty's impact on neurosurgical outcomes, with more than 125 frailty-related publications in the last 4 years.
Daniel Carr, DO
A neurosurgeon with a practice based out of Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons. He operates at Henry Ford Providence Hospitals in southeast Michigan where he takes general neurosurgery calls and performs most of his elective surgeries.
Megan Curtis, NP
A doctoral-prepared adult nurse practitioner with 21 years of neurosurgery experience specializing in both simple and complex spine. She is currently practicing at the University of Michigan outpatient neurosurgery clinic, caring for patients throughout the perioperative continuum.
Hassan Fadel, MD
A current chief resident at Henry Ford Health in Detroit. His clinical interests include advanced neurosurgical oncology, emphasizing the surgical use of new and emerging technologies.
Micheal Karsy, MD
A board-certified, Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Michigan Health – Sparrow and the Director of Clinical Programs and Quality. He has fellowship training in the areas of complex spine and neuro-oncology/skull base
Carrie Lint, NP
A board-certified nurse practitioner with over 25 years of specialized experience in neurosurgery, with a focus in cerebrovascular neurosurgery.
Patrica (Peter) Molnar, NP
The Lead Advanced Practice Provider for Neurosurgery at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, where he directs multidisciplinary peri-operative and neuro-trauma care and has introduced evidence-based protocols for the treatment of complex neurosurgical patient care.
Lucia Zamorano, MD
A Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and President and CEO of Michigan Brain and Spine Surgery Center.
