Event Recap
Our 2026 Surgical Techniques & Career Development event, held on May 9, was our
most successful and highest-attended STCD event to date! The day was filled with outstanding engagement, collaboration, and hands-on neurosurgical training as residents, medical students, advanced practitioners, faculty, and industry partners came together for an immersive educational experience.
The meeting kicked off with an exceptional keynote presentation from Dr. Johnny Delashaw, whose insights and expertise set the tone for the day. In addition to his presentation, Dr. Delashaw actively participated in the cadaver lab, sharing surgical techniques and hands-on instruction with attendees throughout the event.
Brief, high-yield lectures prepared participants for an outstanding cadaver lab experience featuring stations focused on Tumors, Spine, Trauma, Endovascular, and Endoscopic procedures. Attendees rotated through the stations with direct guidance from faculty and vendor partners, allowing for meaningful skill development and real-world surgical application.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Samantha, and the entire team at the Henry Ford Health – Providence VESIC Lab for their incredible support and seamless coordination in organizing the lab experience. Their dedication played a major role in making this event such a success.
